Question (1): Common Question

  1. What are the main drivers that can influence which fossil-fuelled power generation technologies will win through and how will they influence the key plant types? (Consider the market place as being global)
  2. What are the key fossil-fuelled power generation plant types that will need to be commercial for new plant in 2030? (Consider: solid, liquid and gaseous fossil fuels, wastes, biomass + hydrogen if the Group considers it will be commercial

Question (2): Group A

What are the major underpinning activities that are needed to ensure that the key generation plant types are commercialised successfully? (Consider underpinning technologies and underpinning science)

Question (3): Group B

What initiatives are required to ensure that ‘UK plc’ is well positioned to benefit from these power generation technologies in the period up to 2030? (Consider the market place as being global)

Question (4): Group C

What is the justification for a government role and what role should it be?
